She’s got mad hair, a feisty personality and the most soulful voice to come out of 2013. Ella Eyre is a singer/songwriter who’s worked with the likes of Bastille, Rudimental and Tinie Tempah. She follows in the footsteps of Adele, Jessie J and Rizzle Kicks, having recently graduated from the world-famous BRIT school, and, like the others, she has already kick-started her music career with a bang (especially considering that she’s still only 19 years old).
Ella secured a record deal with Virgin/EMI back in 2012 and has become more and more well-known since due to her collaboration with Hackney quartet, Rudimental. Not only is her voice heard on chart track ‘Waiting All Night’, Ella also sings on Bastille’s cover of TLC’s ‘No Scrubs’ classic, ‘No Angels’.
Ella’s voice is certainly a force to be reckoned with. It’s from her massive vocals that she is best known and she doesn’t hold back showing them off in her title track, ‘Deeper’. The soulful twang of her smoky tone combined with an R&B beat and the sounds of poppy brass make it an expected chart-topper. Both her Deeper EP and her first UK headline tour dates were released only this week, and she was nominated for the BRIT’s Critics’ Choice award 2014: it’s clear from the evidence that she’s already starting fires in the UK music industry.
She’s got the big voice, the big hair and we’re expecting to hear even bigger music.
