Captain America: Civil War is, yet, the best superhero movie of 2016. Indeed, Marvel Studios delivered the beyond-expectation film the audience was waiting for since the disappointment of Avengers: Age of Ultron and the failure of DC studios to keep up with Marvel’s standards.
It is not only the elaborate plot, the new amazing superheroes or the real complexity behind those we have already met, the great jokes, the famous bromance between Rogers and Bucky, nor the glimpse of the latest Spider-Man that made it an outstanding and flawless addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is the combination of all of the above coming together in the right way to offer endless excitement.
The new Captain America did deserve all the recognition and great press it got at its release. Brilliantly directed, it presents not only some good action and stunts but some real intensity and likelihood in the evolution of our well-known superheroes, strengthened by those talented actors that bring the chemistry to life on the screen.
All of those who enjoyed the film in the cinema will be excited by the Blu-ray’s release, which bring some pretty amazing extras. These include: a making-of and behind the scenes; some deleted and extended scenes that promise one tiny appearance of the most favourite villain of the MCU, Loki; the audio commentary of the Russo Brothers and screenwriters, Markusand and McFeely; a ‘The Road to Civil’ feature, which explores in depth the evolution of Iron Man and Captain America from their first cinematic appearance; the usual gag reel, and an exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming Doctor Strange movie.
