With their debut album reaching number one earlier this month, The 1975 are no longer a band on the cusp, rather more their feet are grounded firmly on success and they are stamping pretty bloody loudly. Melding together the catchiest elements of New Order, Prince, contemporaries such as Two Door Cinema Club and a hint of carefree mainstream pop music, The 1975 are the finest example of instant-gratification pop music blended with artful experimentation and a youthful thoughtfulness that has been capturing the hearts and minds of the music-listening masses.
Due to insatiable demand the group are once again touring the UK throughout January and February of next year, but before that in support of their chart-dominating record they are currently embarking on a more intimate 14-date stint, commencing last Sunday in Newcastle and finishing up in Belfast on 1st October. This set of gigs are sold out across the board however because The Edge harness powers that have only before been witnessed within the fictional work of H.P.
