Preview: Red Hot Chili Peppers at Isle of Wight Festival 2014

The Red Hot Chili Peppers earn, without hesitation, the title of legendary. Achieving global fame, the four piece will make their debut appearance at the Isle of Wight festival on the Saturday. This cult band have become the main selling point of the festival, with people of all ages buying tickets purely to see these Californian funk rockers live in action. Their show is guaranteed to have all dancing along to their classic, and numerous, hits. As the band’s only UK show of the year, it is not one to be missed.

The band has had a varying line-up over its history, with the current band comprising of Anthony Kiedis (vocals), Flea (bass), Chad Smith (drums), and Josh Klinghoffer (guitar). Over the years, the band have sky rocketed to super stardom, having one a total of seven Grammys, being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and performing at the Super Bowl halftime (the most watched in the history of the Super Bowl). Their previous three albums By The Way, Stadium Arcadium, and I’m With You, have all peaked at number 1 in the UK album charts, and their album Californication reached worldwide sales of over 15,000,000. Their fame and musical prowess is plain to see, whether you look at the figures or the sheer hysteria of the fans.
