It was revealed only days ago that Lily Allen was to fill in for Two Door Cinema Club after they had to pull out of what would have been their first ever headline show at this year’s Latitude Festival. As a tribute to the Irish band, the ‘Hard Out Here’ singer covered one of their most famous tracks, ‘Something Good Can Work’.
Clad in a Two Door Cinema Club t-shirt, Lily Allen began to play Two Door Cinema’s first ever single on her phone and asked her band “Can we do this at such short notice?”. Allen was accompanied by her band for a rendition of the track, which was her second song of the night. Laughing, she commented, “that was a tongue twister and a half, that chorus there!”
Allen also performed latest single ‘URL Badman’, which tackles cyber-bullying and trolling prevalent in today’s society. Having received abuse on Twitter about Allen replacing Two Door Cinema Club as Friday’s headline act, she told the crowd “I’m sorry I’m not Two Door Cinema Club but I’ve promised I’ll give it my best”.
