The Edge can reveal that the main headline act of the 2011 SUSU Freshers’ Ball is London-based beatboxer Beardyman.
Primarily a live performer, Beardyman (real name Darren Foreman) released his first studio album, comically entitled I Done a Album, in March 2011. Described by the BBC as the “king of sound and [the]ruler of beats”, the drum and bass musician performed at the popular Isle of Wight music festival Bestival this year.
Other acts confirmed for the event include Danny Jones from McFly (DJ set), A Skillz and Harry Shotta. The Freshers’ Ball will be held on Saturday 8th October in The Cube, and has previously hosted such hugely popular names as Chase and Status in 2010, Calvin Harris in 2009, and The Saturdays in 2008. Tickets have now sold out.
