Arcade Fire are the first headline act confirmed to appear at Glastonbury in 2014.
Announcing the news on Twitter earlier today, they also confirmed performances in Rome, Verona, and Dublin in the same week in June.
The six-piece Canadian band will headline the Friday night of the festival, having not played at Worthy Farm since 2007. The performances follow on from the release of their fourth studio album Reflektor in October.
The only other confirmed act for the festival which will take place from 25th-29th June 2014, is Lily Allen.
