A preview of Lana Del Rey’s new song ‘Big Eyes’ – her contribution to Tim Burton’s upcoming film of the same name – is now available.
The film, which is scheduled for release on Boxing Day in the UK, is a biopic which tells the story of American artist Margaret Keane. Keane’s paintings, stylised with large doe-eyes, were fraudulently credited to her husband between the 1960s and 70s and culminated in a multi-million dollar court case. She will be portrayed by Academy Award-nominee Amy Adams, though Keane herself makes a small cameo in the film.
Del Rey’s dark and haunting vocals echo in the preview, set to clips from the upcoming film’s trailer. Del Rey is reported to also be contributing another song, entitled ‘I Can Fly’, to the film’s soundtrack. These tracks follow Del Rey’s eerie cover of ‘Once Upon A Dream’ to Maleficent‘s soundtrack.
Following the success of her third studio album, Ultraviolence, in June 2014, Del Rey has just announced a series of North American tour dates, supported by Courtney Love.
