Disney have released the first teaser trailer for Moana – their first film to feature a Polynesian princess.
Set in ancient Oceania in the South Pacific, the film follows the titular princess as she sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her journey, she teams up with her hero and legendary demi-god Maui, who in the trailer speaks proudly of his own impressive history.
The film features the vocal talents of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as Maui and newcomer Auli’i Cravalho as Moana. Disney’s 56th feature, directed by Ron Clements, and John Musker (of The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Hercules fame), will also feature music co-written by Hamilton‘s Lin Manuel-Miranda.
Moana is set to be released in the UK on 2nd December. Watch the teaser trailer below.
