Taylor Swift and ZAYN have collaborated on a new track, ‘I Don’t Want To Live Forever’ which is to feature on the soundtrack of the film adaptation of E.L. James’ bestselling novel, Fifty Shades Darker.
The film is the second in the Fifty Shades series, and is due for release on Valentines Day 2017.
The song marks the first release of new music for Taylor Swift in over two years, since the release of her 1989 album. ZAYN, previously of One Direction fame, released his debut solo album, Mind of Mine, in March. This collaboration brings these two artists, both some of the highest earners of their generation, and blends their voices together in a sultry way.
The soundtrack for the first film featured the likes of Ellie Goulding, The Weeknd, Sia, Beyonce and more. Given the high calibre present there, it is to be expected that the soundtrack for its sequel will also feature many prolific names, demonstrated by this first offering to it.
The track has been released via Apple Music, which is unsurprising due to Swift’s affiliation with them, and her public hate of streaming services like Spotify.
