20th Century fox have released a new promotional clip for the hotly anticipated sci-fi horror movie Alien: Covenant.
The clip, entitled “Prologue: Last Supper” provides fans with a first look at the crew of the film’s ship, the Covenant, before the film’s theatrical release in May. The clip serves as a prologue to the movie and will not be part of the film itself. Despite this however, its release has reignited the buzz for the movie that began when the first official trailer was released last year.
We get a look at James Franco as captain of the Covenant, and see the crew share the eponymous final meal together, before they are placed into cryosleep for the rest of their journey. Michael Fassbender and Katherine Waterson also briefly appear, giving us a first glimpse at their characters Walter and Daniels respectively.
The film, which promises to bring the critically acclaimed sci-fi series back to its traditional horror roots, and this fact has been discussed at length with the cast over the last couple of months. This promise of suspense is teased in the clip itself as a crew member dramatically chokes before being saved by Fassbender. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
Alien: Covenant is due to be released in the UK on the 19th May 2017. In the meantime, check out the”Prologue: Last Supper” below:
