Redfest 2012 Preview

Back for its sixth year, Redfest is a small festival which packs a punch! The festival was originally launched by Matt Nichols as a one day event with The Ordinary Boys headlining and support coming from Newton Faulkner, Laura Marling and The Silversun Pickups. The festival soon grew to a three day event and in the past few years, has played host to many great bands including Enter Shikari, Hadouken!, Twin Atlantic, We Are The Ocean, Modestep and Ed Sheeran. This year the three day festival takes place on July 20th – 22nd with a range of bands across many different stages catering for many, if not all tastes!

With Main Stage headliners including Modestep, Young Guns, Kids in Glass Houses, Deaf Havana, and Foreign Beggars selling out venues across the UK this festival offers the opportunity to see them all in one friendly, intimate setting.

As well as the Main Stage, the festival offers an Introducing Stage hosted by Gozibe and with acts such as Shadows Chasing Ghosts, Fei Comodo, and Hildamay making appearances, even the supporting stage will be one not to be missed!

An Acoustic Stage rounds off the main stages in relaxing fashion with Aaron Delahunty, Roxanne Emery, and Dan Hutchings among many handpicked to make sure there’s still space to relax at this busy little festival.

Once the main acts have finished for the day, DJs such as South Central, Animal, Document One, Kouncil House, and Mattix & Futile play on until the early hours of the morning in the Dance Tents ensuring that, for those who want it to, the party never stops! Other facilities such as a beer tent, food stalls, charging and locker facilities allow those who are not used to ‘roughing it’, a slice of home comfort.

Having previously attended this festival twice I can honestly say that this is one of the best smaller festivals out there and at only £65 for the entire event, it also remains one of the best value festivals out there.
