Preview: Jake Morley at The Joiners (19/11/2014)

Barnet-born singer-songwriter, Jake Morley will be gracing the stage at The Joiners in Southampton on Wednesday for an evening of folk-inspired acoustic and indie music.

The Londoner has received praise for every show he has played and has a few high-profile admirers, including BBC Radio 2 presenter Janice Long.  His debut EP, This City, was released back in 2008 shortly after he first started recording.  Following on from that, Morley got into contact with sound engineer Phil Brown, who has worked with the likes of Bob Marley and Faithless, who helped him produce and co-write his debut album, Many Fish To Fry, back in 2010, along with producer and guitarist Calum MacColl who has most notably worked with Ronan Keating.  The album was then released in February 2011.

Since then Morley has not been overly active in the studio but has still maintained a strong following of die-hard fans.  His most recent single, ‘Falter’ was released back in August, with the video for it arriving two months later in October.  He is a very popular musician on the London-local scene, so one can only hope that Southampton will love him just as much.

Jake Morley will be playing The Joiners on Wednesday 19th November and tickets are still available for £8 in advance of the show here.  Alternatively, tickets can be bought on the door for £10.
