Preview: Field Day Festival 2016

FD16_Instagram-photo_151125-lineup-SUN-no-x-3-610x610Selling out every year since its arrival in Victoria Park back in 2007, Field Day is now celebrating its 10th anniversary.

The festival takes place over two days in the heart of London, with a line-up ranging from established acts, such as headliners James Blake and PJ Harvey, to a sparkling array of new talent – a few who can be recognised from The Edge’s List of 2016.

Bringing everything from minimalist electronica, to bands such as Blossoms, to indescribable electronic layerings at the hands of artists like Gold Panda and Four Tet, Field Day offers an exciting spectrum of music across five stages.

2016 sees James Blake and PJ Harvey take the headline slots, with Ata Kak, Beach House, DJ Koze, Fickle Friends, Fat White Family, Kelela, Tangerines and Mercury Prize nominee SOAK. NAO, Mabel, and Mura Masa have moved straight from The Edge’s List to Field Day’s stage on Saturday, too.

Field Day also plays host to Village Mentality, a village fete at the heart of the festival, which allows festival goers to take part in sack races, egg and spoon races, and tugs of war. Probably best enjoyed after a healthy dose of alcohol.

Field Day offers a glittering lineup with names both new and old, bringing something different to the June weekend in London.
